Research Interests:

Nanobody/complement receptor/cancer immunology/in vivo imaging: Dr. Zheng has been working with Nanobody in Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologic (Belgium) during Ph.D. since the great potential of the smallest antibody in preclinical and clinical research. Dr. Zheng previous research was focused on the in vivo monitoring of arthritic and hepatitis mouse models using complement receptor targeting nanobody as molecular imaging SPECT/CT prober. Her present research topics include cancer-associated macrophage in vivo imaging, generating nanobody targeting immune checkpoint molecular used for immunotherapy. In addition to cancer immunology, She has also worked on a collaborative project in protein structure and function studies of Nanobody recognition molecular mechanism. Recently, Dr. Zheng collaborates with Dr. Robert Campbell in the University of Alberta in Canada, she has added a new aspect to work on developing Genetically encoded Fluorescence biosensor using Nanobody. Dr. Zheng published in top journals such as Nucleic Acids Research, Nature Communications, Scientific Reports and Journal of Nuclear Medicine, etc.
