Kirk KPeterson 


     Was born in Logan, Utah on January 18, 1957 and is the eldest of 6 children. His father was a high school history teacher, farmer and horseman and his mother was a housewife and homemaker. He spent the first 19 years of life living in Cache Valley located in northern Utah.

    Received two Bachelor’s degrees from Utah State University, in Geography and Secondary Education, with minors in Sociology and history in 1984-86. He earned a Master’s degree in Instructional Technology and School Library Media from USU in 1991.

    Mr. Peterson is an international educator and multicultural specialist. He taught overseas for 30 years, working in 8 countries. He has lived in the Western Pacific, South America, Europe, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, and is not happy to call Xi’an, China his new home. He has traveled extensively around the globe visiting 67 countries.

    Taught middle school social studies for 10 years and as a school librarian for 20 years. Where ever he worked in the world, he strived to engage his students in creativity, imagination, promoting community service, and celebrating multicultural understanding and respect for others. 

    Mr. Peterson is passionate professional who believes that learning and gaining an understanding of the cultures and peoples of this world will help build bridges of understanding and global unity.
