Nanoscience for energy research: energy storage, electrocatalysis

 

The superior electrochemical performances are actively pursued in our group. Thus, we have been developing synthesis of nanostructured transition metal oxides, hydroxides, sulfides and phosphides. In particular, chemical modification (including additional metal doping, synergistic coupling with carbon materials) towards these materials leading to unexpected, interesting catalytic activities have been observed and will be further explored.

 

Our research in this area includes the following aspects:
1.Synthesis of transition metal oxides, hydroxides, sulfides and phosphides nanocrystals
2.The use of the materials for advanced lithium ion batteries and supercapacitors for energy storage
3.Development of novel photocatalysts/electrocatalysts for water splitting/hydrogen evolution/oxygen evolution
